Africa Travel – Experience it with WingedFeet

Africa has a storied history.

It is not only that homo sapiens originated in Africa (source).

The storied history comes from the impact of the continent on world history.

There was of course the great civilizations of Ancient Egypt, Phoenicia, and North Africa.

There was also the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. It created large African diasporas throughout the Americas. From Bermuda to Boston this large migration has its effects felt to this day.

There is even a diversity which is not common knowledge. Different ethnicities, cultures and languages intermix into a unique continental soup. How else did you think the Indian spices got into Madagascan food?

It does not stop at cultural diversity. There is also geographic diversity. From the palm trees of the Mediterranean north to the Sahara Desert to the green savannas of Sub-Saharan Africa, one type of climate zone changes into another.

What about biodiversity? The savannas harbor wild animals found nowhere else. Check out the 604 mountain gorillas of Rwanda before they disappear.

All of which makes Africa a travel adventure worth experiencing.
